Hi, I'm wondering if I should get tested for ADHD. My son is 9 years old, and at school they always complain that he is inattentive, distracted, doesn't listen to the teacher. At home it can also be difficult - he does his homework for two hours, because he constantly goes into his own thoughts. The teacher advised me to take an examination, but I don't know where to start. I saw that there are tests for children and adults, but what do they look like? Is it just a questionnaire or something complicated? Maybe someone has already experienced it?

I read recently that ADHD has different forms, and it's not always just about hyperactivity. Some may just have absent-mindedness and organization problems, and some may have a complete inability to sit still. That's probably why it's so often overlooked in adults, because if a person is just forgetful, they don't even think it might be related to ADHD. I wonder if there are cases when a person is diagnosed and then realizes that it doesn't interfere with his life at all?
